What Got Me Excited About Joining SWAP PM?

The first time I explored SWAP PM was right before my interview. I was asked to check out the platform, explore its features, and share what I liked most. For the final round, I even created a short video showcasing one of the features. That’s when the product really clicked for me.
What stood out instantly was how smooth and intuitive the onboarding process was. I’ve been through the usual gauntlet, remember a password, forget it, reset it, wait for the OTP that never arrives, repeat. But with SWAP PM? One magic link, one click, and boom, you’re in. It actually felt like magic. No mental gymnastics, no second-guessing your favorite childhood pet’s name. Honestly, it felt like the product whispered, “You’ve got enough to manage already, let me handle this one.” That tiny moment of ease set the tone for what followed.
Then I started exploring the actual features phases, lanes, meetings, and durations; all laid out on a clean, distraction-free canvas. Whether you're scheduling a meeting with an architect or assigning a task to the site engineer, it’s all there. And the best part? I didn’t need a tooltip or guide to figure things out. The interface wasn’t cluttered with unnecessary elements, it had just what a design team needs to start and finish a project efficiently.
That, to me, is the mark of a good product: it feels simple, not overwhelming. It gets out of your way and lets you get things done.
Although I come from a product background, I also hold a degree in civil engineering. I’ve worked on construction sites during my undergrad internships and got a front-row seat to the chaos that can come with project coordination. Let’s just say, when your “project management system” is a whiteboard covered in color-coded sticky notes, it doesn’t take much, a gust of wind or someone’s elbow to bring everything crashing down. Tasks disappear. Priorities shift (literally). And deadlines? They get lost somewhere under a post-it labeled “urgent”. So when I landed this internship, what excited me most was the opportunity to bring both sides of my experience together: my understanding of on-site workflows and my product mindset.
I wasn’t just working for users, I was one of them once.
The second thing that drew me in was the nature of the role itself. Being a startup, I knew I’d be working closely with the founder in a founder’s office-style setup, contributing across the lifecycle, from ideation to launch. What made it even more exciting was that the founder of SWAP PM had already built a successful company. Learning directly from someone like that, while having real ownership, was a rare opportunity.
Blending my product mindset with my civil engineering background has been more than a career move, it’s been a full-circle moment. At SWAP PM, I’m not just building a product; I’m helping shape something I would have loved to use back when I was on-site. And that’s what makes this experience truly special.
If you're part of the AEC world and looking for a tool that actually gets how your projects run, give SWAP PM a try.
It's built by people who’ve lived the chaos, for teams that are ready for clarity.
